To embed media, first create a new record. Then in the "Body" of the record, select "Edit HTML."
When you do that, you should be directed to this page. On this page, you can edit the text, add images, add hyperlinks, and more. You can also select "Source" to edit the HTML code.
1. If you would like to add an image, select the "Image" button.
2. Once you have selected "Image," you can paste the URL of any image you would like to use from anywhere on the internet, including an Omeka image. Note: you have to use the URL of the image itself and not of the webpage that contains the image.
3. Once you have added a URL, a preview of the image will appear.
4. You can also adjust the size of the image using the width and height dimensions. Remember to select the lock first in order to lock in the proportions so you do not distort the image.
5. If you would like the viewer to be able to open the image, paste the URL in the URL box in the link tab. You can also paste a URL of the website the image is contained in, if you would like. We recommend you select "New Window" for the "Target" so that the viewer is directed to a new window and does not lose your exhibit.
When you are finished with editing the textbox, you can select the icon with the arrows pointing inwards (next to "Source") to return to the previous page.
Embedded media will appear like this in your Neatline exhibit:
Embedding a video:
1. Find the video you would like on the internet and then copy the embedded source code. You can usually find this in the "Share" section of a video.
2. Select "Source" from the "Edit HTML" page.
3. Paste the source code. Find the portion of the code that says "width" and change the number to "100%".
When you are finished with editing the textbox, you can select the icon with the arrows pointing inwards (next to "Source") to return to the previous page.
