Food and recipe share - November 2020
Come and demonstrate* how to make your favorite recipe. Many of us like to cook or bake. Show off your skills or share your cooking cheats!
*Demonstration times will be limited and calculated based on the number of people presenting. It is recommended that you have your recipe measured and prepared ahead of the demonstration. Talent Show/Cultural Heritage Exchange
Share your history, heritage, and cultural uniqueness in our cultural heritage exchange. Demonstrate a dance, explain an important food, show off your art, and more.
The Virtual Talent Show and Cultural Exchange is a social and virtual engagement where all can gather to showcase interests and experiences through art, music, literature or any expression you find meaningful to you.
It could be a photo presentation from your favorite vacation spot (since many of us aren’t traveling right now), a video showcasing an art collection from your home, community art gallery or a beautiful mural in your neighborhood. It could also be a recording of you playing your favorite instrument. What about a vocal performance or literature reading from a song, poem or a book you’ve read? All of these are welcome.
So, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Send an email to LCBC to Val Hill vhill@uic.edu or Miguel Vazquez mvazqu36@uic.edu. indicating your interest in participating in the cultural exchange.
- Describe your exchange in 2-3 sentences, i.e. origin, creator and why it is meaningful to you and what you’d like others to remember about it.
- Submissions do not have to be pre-recorded but should be between 3-5 minutes long.
- All content is due on October 16 (with some flexibility).
- If you need assistance putting your presentation together, i.e. photo collage, video, Zoom recording or uploading visuals with a sound clip, we can help. Please contact Miguel Vazquez at mvazqu36@uic.edu.
- Have fun, don’t overthink it, the simpler the better!
