Wellness at the University of Illinois College of Medicine
The Committee's purpose is to “Enhance the holistic wellness of UICOMP students through education and resources." Members of the committee represent various constituent groups of UICOMP (M1’s, M2’s, M3’s, M4’s, Staff, Faculty, and Administration).
The UIC COM Medical Student Wellness Program believes that maintaining life-balance, avoiding stress, and staying healthy are vital components of becoming a successful physician. Through collaborative efforts across campus, our hope is to cultivate an environment that encourages maintenance of physical and mental health throughout the medical school experience.

Student wellness should be a priority for all medical schools. Institutional culture changes are difficult to achieve, but necessary in order to help develop physicians who are well-balanced, healthy, and happy, while serving patients to the best of their abilities.
