Brings together the voices of activists, authors, lawyers, politicians, artists, and everyday people whose daily lives are, in the words of playwright Neil Marcus, "an art . . . an ingenious way to live."

Administrators and faculty in medical, nursing and health science programs are witnessing a substantial increase in the number of students with disabilities entering their programs. Concurrently, the benefits of diversity in healthcare are becoming increasingly apparent and important. Provider-patient concordance is known mechanism for reducing health care disparities; By developing a workforce that mirrors the patient population, we can appropriately inform disability care, reducing ;health care disparities while embracing the tenets of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), namely equal opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Every person has the potential to contribute to an organization as long as they have access to the right opportunities and connections, yet it sometimes is all too obvious that the stigma associated with a person's disability can have a negative impact on their ability to develop healthy work relationships with peers and supervisors. This situation can only be remedied through effective change management, a systematic approach to designing, implementing, and measuring progress on unique culture-change.

This book explores the career experiences of Generation A, the half-million individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who will reach adulthood in the next decade. With Generation A eligible to enter the workforce in unprecedented numbers, research is needed to help individuals, organizations, and educational institutions to work together to create successful work experiences and career outcomes for individuals with ASD.
