3D Printing at the Library of Health Sciences

Welcome to the UIC Library of Health Sciences (LHS)!

LHS has an Original i3 Prusa MK3S+ 3D printer available for faculty, staff, and students to use.

Below are our guidelines for requesting 3D prints:

  • Requests must abide by the Fabrication Lab policies.
  • Due to limited staffing, an individual may request 1 print per month.
  • If a request takes over 4 hours to print, you will receive an email asking for approval for your item to be scaled down.
  • If you know your request may take over 4 hours, please indicate in your email that it can be scaled down.
  • We are unable to accommodate specific filament color requests.
  • Items will be printed using PLA filament.
  • Please allow up to two weeks for your request to be completed.
  • Please email your 3D print request as an STL file to: jaimeg5@uic.edu

To schedule a consultation or if you have any questions about 3D printing at the Library of Health Sciences Chicago, please contact: Prof. Jimmy Gonzalez-Vicker: jaimeg5@uic.edu
