UIC Library provides access to many eBooks and streaming video collections that you can access from anywhere.
To find eBook go the main library website and use the main box. If you know the title of the book you are looking for, just type the title. If you are interested in finding eBooks on a given subject always use keywords and logic/boolean operators (you can find a video tutorial under the tab "Find Articles Online."
Once you done with typing the keywords or the title of the searched item, click "Search" and go to the box "Books & Media" to see more results.
From there under "Availability" click on checkbox "Available Online."
From there you should have access to all our eBooks. Remember to log in with your UIC NetID. If you do not have one please contact ACCC for more information.
Video Databases
As a UIC Student you also have access to access to multiple streaming video platforms such as:
- Docuseek2Docuseek 2 is a platform for independent, documentary, educational and social issue video and films. It provides access to over 750 documentaries covering a wide variety of subjects including social issues, sustainability, the environment, and many more. Includes captions.
- Film PlatformFILM PLATFORM brings some of the finest documentary films in the world to academia. It contains a curated collection of educational films of social, political, and cultural importance by some of the world’s top international filmmakers. Includes captions and transcripts.
- KanopyKanopy is an on-demand streaming video service for educational institutions that provides students and faculty access to more than 26,000 films. Kanopy provides students access to one of the largest collections of films in the world – including award-winning documentaries, training films and theatrical releases – on every topic imaginable. If you are a faculty member who needs a film activated for a class, please use the request form in Kanopy. Please include the class name and number, and the date the film is needed.
