UIC Library Faculty Profile: Jung Mi Scoulas, Assistant Professor: About

Biography

I joined the UIC Library on July 2018 as the Assessment Coordinator for the Assessment and Scholarly Communications Department. My primary responsibilities include planning, designing and implementing library assessment initiatives, leading regular internal and external surveys (e.g., student and faculty surveys), utilizing appropriate assessment methods to analyze data, sharing the findings with internal and external stakeholders, and consulting with library units to determine their assessment needs.

I hold a PhD in Educational Psychology and have a broad background in education and research, with specific training and expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research and secondary data analysis of national data sets. My research skills evolved while working on my dissertation using both the quantitative and qualitative methods and teaching statistical courses at UIC.
