Included in the mission of the University Library of the University of Illinois at Chicago is the charge to assist with the dissemination of scholarly activities. In addition, the UIC University Library supports open access journal publishing. As such, the University Library is establishing a publishing program to advance scholarly knowledge in a cost effective manner. The University Library is providing an online publishing system called Journals@UIC which will be managed and maintained by the UIC University Library.
The University of Illinois at Chicago Library provides the storage, software, application expertise, and training required for scholars to host and publish their open-access or subscription based journals. New journals can establish themselves here or existing journals can move to this environment.
Journals@UIC assists with the management of every stage of the refereed publishing process. Journals@UIC allows editors to manage the journal and its content from author submission to peer review, from copy editing to hosting the finished articles on the Web, as well as tracking subscriptions, indexing, and more.
