HathiTrust Digital Library: HathiTrust Research Center

The HathiTrust Digital Library brings together the immense collections of partner institutions in digital form, preserving them securely to be accessed and used today, and in future generations.

What is the HathiTrust Research Center?

The HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) is the research arm of the HathiTrust Digital Library (HTDL). The HathiTrust is a consortium of research libraries that seeks to preserve the cultural record by digitizing books, serials (e.g. periodicals), and other forms of information and making them available digitally through the HTDL.

The Hathi Trust Digital Library has many millions of volumes of digitized content and grows in number every day.

At the HTRC, you can use these digitized books as research data to ask computationally-mediated research questions and drawing on text analysis methods.

What can you do with the HTRC?

The HTRC allows researchers to use the HathiTrust digital collection to do computational analysis. Some of the ways researcher do this is through browsing and making data sets (worksets), running algorithms, performing topic modeling, creating word clouds, and more.
