Rural Health

This guide is intended to provide useful resources for rural health care professionals and students.

Rural Health Publications and Publishing Support

Welcome to the page for all things publication. Here you will find information about UIC support for publication including information on Indigo, UIC's institutional repository, and research guides on citation management, scientific writing, and impact analysis. Towards the bottom of the guide, you will find journals and books on various topics within rural health. While an attempt has been made to ensure a wide variety of topics are represented, this is not the entire collection held at UIC. Feel free to contact Holly Hudson at hhudson@uic.edu if something is missing.

UIC Publishing Support

Indigo is UIC's Institutional Repository where you can deposit your manuscripts and data for perpetuity

The following links will direct you to various UIC Library Research Guides which are full of resources to support you in writing and publishing many types of scholarly works.

Selected Rural Health Journals

Below you will find a selection of rural health journals, some available via open access, some available via UIC Library subscription. These journals provide a lot of information about rural health, but they also serve as a starting point in the publication process. Review these journals' submission guidelines for more information about publishing standards such as acceptable content, word count, formatting, and article processing charges (APC).

This is only a selection of the rural health materials available and does not represent the complete collection

In addition to traditional rural health, wilderness or survival health has recently gained more attention. Below, you will find journals on wilderness, survival, or frontier health
