The Department of Health Science Education at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria will be recognized as leaders in medical education and scholarship. The department is committed to creating a progressive student centered learning environment that integrates basic, social and clinical sciences toward the development of exemplary healthcare providers.
Department Goals
- Foster inter-professional collaboration and partner with clinical and community faculty as well as regional organizations
- Develop and implement advanced educational technology and innovations
- Advocate for student success and well-being to develop resilient and humanistic health care providers who deliver exemplary patient care
- Focus on continuous medical education quality improvement and disseminate new educational practices
- Promote advocacy programs to encourage better health within the communities served

You should consult with the Peoria IRB even if you think your research is exempt. - Center for Outcomes Research (COR)"The COR exists to conduct multidisciplinary, collaborative research in health systems, services, and health outcomes. The COR works with the UICOMP clinical departments, affiliated hospitals, and community organizations to conduct and publish the outcomes of interventions to improve the quality of healthcare in the community."
