Rural Information Connection Project

The Library of the Health Sciences at Peoria partners with the Rural Student Physician Program (RSPP) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) to encourage the use of mobile resources among student physicians while immersed in a community-based extended clerkship. This project provides rural health student physicians, whom are likely to become unaffiliated health professionals by nature of their chosen career path, with knowledge of and experience with high-quality health information resources.  By educating on the free and accessible resources available for mobile devices, the RIC project supports the objectives of the RSPP program and the enrolled students physicians.

This project was started 2015-2016 in whole or in part with Federal Funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. HHSN‐276‐2011‐ 00005C with the University of Illinois at Chicago.
