The USAID policy - in effect since October 1, 2014.
- Requires all research proposals to include a DMP.
- USAID staff, contractors and recipients of USAID assistance awards (e.g. grants and cooperative agreements) must submit any dataset created or collected with USAID funding to the Development Data Library (DDL).
NOTE: USAID released its Public Access Plan in March 2024. With USAID being subsumed under the State Department, proposed USAID public access requirements are not expected to be implemented.
