Bloomberg Terminal: Home

The Bloomberg terminal is a dedicated computer terminal for accessing financial data electronically. It seamlessly integrates real-time and historical information on about 5 million bonds, equities, commodities, currencies and funds. It also compiles data on almost every publicly traded company and includes biographies of more than 1 million people.

You must have a current UIC netid to create a Bloomberg account. Accounts will expire if not used at least once every 90 days.

There is one Bloomberg terminal located in the Daley Library's IDEA Commons.  There are 7 additional terminals located in the CME Training Lab, Room 170, Douglas Hall.

The Bloomberg terminal provides many help screens and functions.  In addition, users may email or call them directly.  

Many tutorials  and cheat sheets can be found on Google. 

The staff in UIC's CME Training Lab (Douglas Hall, Room 138) may be able to offer some assistance.

Navigation in Bloomberg is via a decentralized, command driven system. Securities are organized by market silos and can be accessed via drilling down a series of menus or by entering a command. Commands to retrieve information are represented by codes. Listed below are some of the most used codes.  More can be found using the terminal's help functions.
