How do I request course reserves?

Request course reserves (faculty)

Please note:


  • you may submit a request anytime, up to the final day of classes
  • we should respond within two to three business days
  • we will notify you when items are on order, out of print
  • we will notify you about processing delays and copyright issues
  • we will send you updates when materials are placed on reserve

How can students find Course Reserves in the Library?

Find course reserves for my class (students)

Please advise your students to bring their i-cards when they want to check-out materials from the Library.


What can be placed on Course Reserves?

You can request the following materials:

  • books from the Library's collection
  • CDs from the Library's collection
  • videos from the Library's collection
  • personal copies of books and videos
  • content created through classroom-collaboration

What cannot be placed on the Reserve Shelf?

We cannot shelve the following:

  • photocopies of book chapters
  • photocopies of journal articles
  • one-time use items such as lab worksheets, photo-copies from workbooks
  • non-commercially produced content (unless you are the author or have permission from the author)
