COVID-19 Details for UIC Libraries

This guide is to keep people updated on requirements for entering the library during Covid-19 restrictions

To visit the Library in person (more info & maps), you need a current (“green”) health check daily pass.   If you are not vaccinated, you may need to complete a recent saliva test.  Using the Library in person requires a seat reservation.  Masks are required.


Making an Appointment

Access to Special Collections and University Archives

Beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2020 the reading rooms of UIC Special Collections and University Archives will be open to UIC students, faculty, and staff on a limited basis: Wednesdays only from 10 AM to 2 PM, by appointment only.

  • Use this form to make advance reservations to visit Special Collections and University Archives. 
  • Appointments will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Researchers must fill out the above form in advance of their appointment. Please request your appointment at least 72 hours in advance. Last-minute appointments will not be possible.
  • Only one researcher will be scheduled for four-hour blocks of research time.
  • Researchers will be required to wear a mask during their visit.

All general UIC Library protocols must be observed.
