What is a graphic novel?

A graphic novel is a narrative work presented to an audience in the form of a comic strip. Specifically, the term "graphic novel" is used to describe either a collection of related comic book stories gathered into a single book, or a single comic book exhibiting similiar length and narrative of a novel.
