Each tab of this guide represents a sub-topic for resources in Epidemiology, Statistics and Public Health.
The "Help" tab offers tips for searching the Internet as well as other avenues for help.
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
Several projects are underway including the Heathcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) & interactive tool for hospital statistics, the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), the Healthcare Informatics Standards, and the HIV & AIDS Cost & Use with an interactive tool for statistics on use of HIV/AIDS resources.
Some of the reports available under Research Findings will also provide some statistical data. Information on specific nursing research and clinical data is also available.

For a single point of access to a wide variety of reports & numeric public health data, use CDC Wonder. Browse the topics list (i.e., Chronic Diseases, Communicable Diseases, Environmental or Occupational Health, etc.) or use the A - Z index.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- Illinois Department of Public Health Statistics
A regularly performed community health assessment and planning process in Illinois.
# An online website, IPLAN Data System, has been created based on this data and offers a customizeable data report system containing 102 health indicators.
- FastSTATS A-Z
Quick access to statistics on a variety of topics with links provided to more comprehensive data & related topics.
This is a self-described gateway to statistics from over 100 U.S. Federal agencies with two categories of links, to statistics or to statistical agencies. Browse through topics with the A to Z link or browse the list of agencies with statistical programs or do a search across agency websites.
- Morbidity Mortality Weekly Report
Online version of the print publication focusing on disease surveillance.
- National Cancer Institute
The NCI provides links to the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology & End Results) Program reports and data, NCI Progress Reports, and interactive graphics and maps.
- Statistical Abstract of the United States
Contains a collection of statistics (at the county, state, & country level) on social and economic conditions in the United States. Selected international data are also included. It also highlights sources of other data from the Census Bureau, other Federal agencies, and private organizations.
