Per the Faculty Bylaws, the Executive Committee oversees the mentoring program.
The Executive Committee will:
- Match mentors and mentees, honoring suggested matching requests, when possible. EC will ensure responsibilities are assigned as equitably as possible.
- Publish and update the Library’s mentoring program on the library’s website.
- Maintain a list of available mentors for new hires or individuals who wish to obtain a new mentor. The list should be updated to reflect available mentors when potential mentors are promoted or hired or a mentor becomes available through reassignment or the resignation of a mentee.
- Ensure that the library’s mentoring policies are clearly communicated to all faculty members.
- Ensure new mentors receive mentor training each year, either through the campus or internally, through the Library.
